Go Green for Spring
May 14, 2015
I’m convinced that there’s nothing better than the colors of Spring. The pale pink flowers are blooming, indigo birds are singing, and the bright yell
ow sun is shining for all to see. Around this time of year, I like to encourage my clients to give back just as nature gives to us.
How? Well, I’m glad you asked! When planning your next event, make it a green event. Despite popular belief, any party that incorporates green elements can and should be considered a green event. Why? Because every effort to recycle, reduce, or reuse makes a difference. Hosting a green event minimizes environmental impacts and helps to increase environmental awareness.
Today, I’m going to give you 5 quick and easy ways to incorporate green elements into your next event.
When hiring vendors ask if they are willing to use non-toxic chlorine and phosphate-free detergents or trash bags made from biodegradable materials
Buy or request organic, locally grown food
Support a local band and opt for unplugged music (strolling violins, acoustic guitar. chamber music)
Choose a venue close to home
Request a digital photographer
Congratulations!! By making these slight changes, you have just reduced any negative environmental impact caused by the event, supported your local economy, and promoted green actions.
(Final Thought: These are just a few ideas, but believe me there are many, many more options available. The great thing about adding green elements is that you can be as modest or extravagant with green elements as you like.)
